Why Support the Foundation?

Funds raised by the Foundation go to support the five initiatives of the Blackboards 2 Business program. The Columbia County Chamber Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) organization, so all donations are tax deductible. 

Blackboards 2 Business is a program of the Chamber Foundation designed to help bridge the gap between local schools and employers by building a stronger workforce for the future. 

Blackboards 2 Business focuses on five initiatives:

  • Students in Business: introduces students to a variety of industries and career opportunities in the area

  • Teachers in Business: allows teachers spend time “shadowing” employees in a local business

  • Principal for a Day: pairs executives one-on-one with a principal in each of the Columbia County schools

  • Work Based Learning: connects school-based occupational instruction with work site experiences

  • Columbia County Career & College Expo: aims to connect middle school and high school students and parents with universities, colleges, trade associations, and area businesses, where they all work together to show the pathway to future successful careers

Mission:

The Columbia County Chamber Foundation works collaboratively to develop workforce, leadership, and community betterment initiatives for the economic success of the Greater Augusta Area.

Purpose:

In accordance with its by-laws, the Columbia County Chamber Foundation is established and sustained for charitable and educational purposes, civic, community, and economic projects and other endeavors as may be approved from time to time by the Board of Directors. The Foundation has been created to develop, sponsor, and provide educational programming, develop and foster a high level of civic concern, community development, and activity on the part of participants in any Foundation program(s).

Vision:

The Columbia County Chamber Foundation’s vision is to foster economic prosperity in the Greater Augusta area.
