Committee members serve as “business liaisons” to the Chamber and the community and assist in carrying out the mission and goals of the Chamber. Service Committees 2013

Ambassador Committee

Support the Chamber’s efforts in welcoming new members by delivering the membership packet, and contacts members regularly to encourage participation and involvement, and attending 50% of ribbon cuts.  Interview and separate application process required.
Meeting Date/Time: Second Tuesday of the month at 11:30 a.m. at the Chamber. 

Event Volunteer Committee

Learns the operation of the Chamber events through setup and breakdown, while networking with the membership at events.
Communicates through e-mail 

Government Affairs Committee

Advocates for Chamber Members regarding government related concerns by addressing or taking action where when needed on legislative issues.  Develops the Chamber’s legislative agenda.
Meeting Date/Time:  Second Thursday of month, 7:30 a.m. at the Chamber, except July.

Industrial Council (Limited to Industrial Suppliers and Manufacturers)

Encourages strong participation from this key segment of the business community to share best practices.  Develops a unified voice in areas of transportation, taxes and workforce development for the benefit of their companies and the community.
Meeting Date/Time: As needed.

Programs Committee

Works with and supports the Director of Programs to implement programs and events.  A creative and brainstorming team that creates programs based on memmber’s needs and provides opportunity for better business.
Meeting Date/Time:  Second Wenesday of month, 8:00 a.m. at the Chamber.

Youth Leadership Committee 2012-2013

Directs Youth Leadership program including selection of Class, planning and implementation of each leadership day, and evaluating program results.
Meeting Date/Time:  Fourth Thursday of Month at 7:30 a.m. at the Chamber.  (Join in May or June.)

Leadership Columbia County Committee 2012-2013

Directs the Adult Leadership Program, including selection of Class, planning and implementing each leadership day and evaluating program results.
Meeting Date/Time: Third Friday of month, 8:00 a.m. at the Chamber (Join in May or June)

Workforce / Education

Focuses on workforce development programs with technical schools, middle and high schools to build a better workforce for the region.
Meeting Date/Time:  Monthly to bi-monthly with area business leaders.

Grovetown Focus Group

Focuses on building a strong Grovetown market place while addresses business challanges.
Meeting Date/Time: Bi-monthly in various Grovetown businesses.

Golf Committee

Coordinates the annual golf tournament by securing donations, helping  with pre-tournament logistics, and volunteering on the day of the tournament.
Meeting Date/Time:  Monthly from May until September.
