Committees

Committee members serve as "business liaisons" to the Chamber and the community and assist in carrying out the mission and goals of the Chamber. Registration does not guarantee acceptance on the committee due to size of committee. Please contact the Chamber at (706) 651-0058 or info@columbiacountychamber.com to volunteer.

Service Committees

AMBASSADORS COMMITTEE
Supports the Chamber's efforts in welcoming new members by delivering the membership packet, contacting members regularly to encourage participation and involvement, and attending 50 percent of ribbon cuts.

An interview, along with a separate application process, is required.

Meeting Date/Time: First Wednesday of the month at 11:30 a.m. in Chamber Conference Room.

 

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
Advocates for Chamber Members regarding government related concerns by addressing or taking action where when needed on legislative issues. Develops the Chamber's legislative agenda.

Meeting Date/Time: Second Thursday of month, 8:00 a.m. in the Chamber Conference Room.

 

EVENTS ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Works with and supports the Programs Manager to implement programs and events. A creative and brainstorming team that creates programs based on member's needs and provides opportunity for better business. The Programs Committee is to support the set up and breakdown of an event and learn the operation of the Chamber while meeting the membership

 

YOUTH LEADERSHIP COMMITTEE
Directs Youth Leadership program including selection of Class, planning and implementation of each leadership day, and evaluating program results.

Meeting Date/Time: Third Tuesday of every month at 8:15 a.m. in Chamber Conference Room (Join in July or August)

 

LEADERSHIP COLUMBIA COUNTY COMMITTEE
Directs the Adult Leadership Program, including selection of Class, planning and implementing each leadership day and evaluating program results. Committee members are graduates of LCC.

Meeting Date/Time: Fourth Tuesday of every month at 8:00 a.m. in the Chamber Conference Room. (Join in May or June.)

 

WORKFORCE / EDUCATION
Focuses on workforce development programs initiatives with area colleges, technical schools, and elementary through high schools to build a better workforce for the region.

Meeting Date/Time: Third Tuesday of every month (except July) at 3:45 p.m. in Chamber Conference Room
